Privacy Policy

The short version: Sunken Sands is made by ToneNite BV in Belgium. Right now this is a pre-launch page. The only personal data we collect is your email address — and only if you choose to sign up for a launch notification, on the basis of your consent. We don't sell your data, we don't use tracking or advertising cookies on this site, and we host our fonts ourselves so your visit isn't shared with third parties.

We are not legally required to appoint a Data Protection Officer, but you can always reach us at the address above for any privacy matter.

2. What we collect on this website, and why

sunkensands.app is currently a pre-launch page. If you enter your email address in the “notify me” form, we process:

Your email address — so we can tell you when Sunken Sands launches and send the occasional update about the game.

Legal basis: your consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR), given when you submit the form. You can withdraw that consent at any time — see your rights below — without affecting the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal.

Processor: we manage these emails through MailerLite (UAB MailerLite, Lithuania, EU), acting as our processor under a data-processing agreement.

How long we keep it: until you unsubscribe, and in any case no longer than 3 years after your last interaction with our emails, after which your address is deleted automatically.

3. Cookies & tracking

This website does not use advertising or analytics cookies, and we do not track you across other sites. We load our fonts from our own server rather than a third-party CDN, so simply visiting this site does not share your data with anyone.

4. The game (coming soon)

Sunken Sands has not launched yet. A full in-app privacy notice will be provided at launch. Our intended approach is privacy-friendly by design:

No account or sign-in is required to play.
Your progress is stored locally on your device.
The game shows ads through Google AdMob in non-personalized mode — ads are not based on a profile of you.
We never sell your personal data.

5. International data transfers

Our newsletter processor (MailerLite) stores data within the EU. The game's advertising provider, Google, is based in the United States; any such transfer is covered by Google's certification under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework and, where needed, the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.

6. Children

Sunken Sands is intended for players aged 13 and over (13 is the digital-consent age in Belgium). Any advertising is served in a non-personalized, child-safe configuration, and we do not build advertising profiles of our players.

7. Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to:

access the personal data we hold about you;
have it corrected or completed;
have it erased;
restrict or object to its processing;
receive it in a portable format (data portability);
withdraw your consent at any time.

To exercise any of these, email support@sunkensands.app and we'll take care of it. We do not use automated decision-making or profiling that produces legal effects for you.

8. Complaints

If you believe we've mishandled your data, you can lodge a complaint with the Belgian supervisory authority:
